Rehersal Report
Wednesday, May 12, 2010, 11:49 PM - Rehearsal Report
Yeah, it's been a while. Apologies for the extended absence...

We had a good rehearsal tonight, adding new tunes for O'Reilly's on Saturday. We did these:

Mess Of Me - Switchfoot
E-Pro - Beck
I Want You To - Weezer
Symphony Of Destruction - Megadeth

Also on the radar - 'Between The Lines' from the forthcoming STP album and 'I Hate Everyone' by Say Anything.

I'm so glad there's some rock stuff still left to play.

So, we had our last rehearsal before Saturday's party, and we had Tommy O'Reilly in to finalize the stuff he's going to be doing with us. He'll be doing about half the second set with us, and we even added a couple more tunes to his segment.

And no, we're not telling you everything he's doing. you have to come out and see for yourself.

We were joined last night at rehearsal by Tommy O'Reilly, who ran down a bunch of new tunes to sing with us. We worked on some Alice In chains, Rollins Band, Velvet Revolver, and a couple of songs that will drop your jaw. Trust me.

Rehearsal Report

We worked on two new songs last night - 'Know Your enemy' by green Day and 'Only Happy when It Rains' by Garbage. Both sound pretty good, although we rocked up the Garbage one pretty good.

After rehearsal, TD and I stopped in at Brock's, where we'll be appearing on Saturday, June 13. Met Kristin the bartender, had a couple of pints, put up signs. The club is a little small, but we shouldn't have a problem fitting in there.

Rehearsal Report....
Thursday, May 14, 2009, 04:50 PM - Rehearsal Report
So, we fell a little bit short on how many new tunes we'll be playing on Saturday - instead of 12 new tunes, we've only got 10. But...

We're going to try a couple that we put together earlier this year and for some reason never got around to doing, which brings us back to an even dozen - and if you missed us at O'R's last month, you'll be getting somewhere around 20 new songs if you come out this Saturday.

It'll be like seeing a whole new band, except for the same three guys playing thing...

See y'all on Saturday.

Rehearsal Report
Thursday, April 30, 2009, 06:49 PM - Rehearsal Report
Rehearsal last night mainly consisted of playing a lot of the older songs on our list - we're playing a private party on Saturday, and we've been told there'll be a lot of older people there, so we want to concentrate on more of the 60s and 70s stuff...

And we had our friend Nancy Goetz over - she's a friend of the birthday boy, so we're going to do about a half-set's worth of stuff with her. As always, she sounded really good. This party should be a lot of fun.

Rehearsal Report....
Thursday, April 23, 2009, 11:17 AM - Rehearsal Report
The band was talking over the past few days and we've decided to try and add another full set of new material before we do the next show at O'Reilly's. So last night we added another six tunes....

Blitzkreig Bop - Ramones
Surrender - Cheap Trick
My Sharona - The Knack
All the Small Things - Blink 182
Hang Fire - Rolling Stones
London Calling - The Clash

And we've got another 6 tunes on the list for next week's rehearsal - more about those next week. It's all part of our effort to keep from boring y'all.

This is why I love being in Nurse Diesel.

We went into rehearsal tonight (at least I did) expecting to knock down a couple of songs and spend the rest of the night working on stuff we already play and listening to stuff to add to the list in the coming weeks.

Instead, we ended up adding five songs to the list. They are:

Three Strange Days - School Of fish
Low - Cracker
Danny's Song - Me First $ The Gimme Gimmes
God Save the Queen - Sex Pistols
Hey Tonight - Creedence

All of these will be in the show the next time we hit O'Reilly's (Saturday, April 18), and we'll probably have a few more in the can by then, too.

Rehearsal Report....
Wednesday, March 25, 2009, 10:35 PM - Rehearsal Report
Nothing new this week - we spent the night running down tunes for Sunday's show at Ollie's Point in Amityville.

We'll be doing mostly 80s stuff, and there will be a few guests getting up to play with us. We'll be doing stuff by Van Halen, Motley Crue, Whitesnake, The Cult, and we're also gonna do the Diesel originals. There's even a semi-reunion of one of my old bands in the works if we can pull it off.

We'll be taking the stage at 4:45, so if you're coming out get there early!

I'll post full details on the show tomorrow. I'm including a link to the official site (click 'related link' at the bottom of this post), which will also get you to the Facebook and MySpace pages for the event.

Rehearsal Report...

We did an off-night rehearsal tonight since steve was somewhere in Ohio yesterday. He gets to travel to all the hot spots...

Anyway. We just ran down a bunch of stuff to sharpen ourselves for Saturday at O'Reilly's. We did add one new song - a great tune called 'the Revolution Will Be Televised' by The Wildhearts. It'll be a game-time decision whether we play it or not, but i get the feeling we will. It's a real good song and we played it pretty good.

We should have a few guests at the show Saturday. Y'all should come down, you'll have fun.
